A árvore de Natal da Lagoa no Rio de Janeiro, já é um cartão postal do Natal Brasileiro. Não só fica num belo local da Cidade Maravilhosa, como também está registrada no Guinness Book como a maior árvore de Natal flutuante do mundo. A árvore tem 85 m de altura, o equivalente a um edifÃcio de 28 andares. O peso é de mais de 500 toneladas. São utilizadas 2,8 milhões de micro-lâmpadas, e os 37 mil metros de mangueiras luminosas, que projetam os vitrais seriam suficientes para dar praticamente mais de cinco voltas na Lagoa. Tem apresentação diária do ‘balé das águas’, luzes, cores e movimento d’água, com jatos que podem atingir até 20 metros de altura.
A estimativa da Prefeitura do Rio é que pelo menos 90 mil pessoas visitam a Ãrvore na Lagoa, a cada ano. O sÃmbolo natalino é reconhecido como o terceiro maior evento do Rio de Janeiro, perdendo apenas para o Reveillón e o Carnaval.
