Not long ago I was hired to shoot the journalist Cora Rona.

Of course, I was especially delighted with the opportunity!

The photos were used to illustrate a special edition magazine, where she gave an opinion on his experience with the Internet.

After the interview done, take some time to mark the day photos. It was necessary to adjust our schedules and be on a sunny day, so that there was natural light, as one of the things that Cora is most like to photograph the stunning landscape that has his window, right in front of the Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas in Rio de Janeiro.

Finally the day of the photos and I can only say it was a cheap one. Cora is super friendly, quiet and fun. Actually, it was very interesting to talk to her.

The last game of the old Maracas!

Working with something you enjoy doing is always one more reason to achieve recognition of their work.
Since young, I always told myself that I wanted to be a photographer. And so trod a difficult path but always with great hope and joy with each new conquest.
Today, deception reach my goal and has more than 34 years living and support myself with my photography.

Again I was hired by the department of communication Transpetro, to document in photos 360 degrees, the release of another ship.

This time, the ship was Sérgio Buarque de Holanda, the third produced in 2010 by Brazil's shipbuilding industry, and the second produced in the shipyard Maua.
The official launch took place on November 19, 2010.

In attendance were several people in our country, including the then President Lula, President of Transpetro, Sergio Machado, President of Petrobras, Sergio Gabrielli, the Governor of Rio de Janeiro, Sergio Cabral, Mayor of Niteroi, the Minister of Transport, and many others.

From the top of the Santa Marta slum, located in Botafogo, Santa Marta, Rio de Janeiro, the panoramic view is stunning, worthy of a picture 360 ​​degrees. But I preferred to portray a scene around my inner life, day to day here in these streets and staircases where everyone spends all day. Shine or rain, this is the obligatory path of the residents there.

She is known as Santa Marta because of a sculpture of the saint and namesake is stored in a chapel on the way up in the highest part of the slum.
This mixture of names began because journalists always called Dona Marta since the early 80s, because nearby, above, has a gazebo with this name.
The name seems that began long ago. Had a PDE. Clement would have bought all the land that now forms the district of Botafogo. And he in 1680, named the hill in back of the land honoring his mother, Martha, who died some years later when he was completing almost 100 years. Therefore was the name of Dona Marta.

And most interesting is that even though he was ordered to open a path, a path that was to connect the beach of Botafogo to their church, and what is now known as St. Clement Street, where I live today and that is one of most important of the neighborhood.
Another thing is crazy to think that ALL the land where the slum is now belonged to St. Ignatius!
Most of the early inhabitants of that place, was formed by families who came to work to enlarge the church of St. Ignatius. They were farmers who came from the Paraíba Valley shortly after the coffee crisis in 1929.

I always liked to go there and do my photos 360 degrees, because of the wealth of beautiful images that exist there. The people are friendly, courteous and willing to show the world the reality of living there.

These scenes that show the economy of the inhabitants, while the joy in the eyes of children playing and cats running up the stairs, make me think about the day to day on our society and the injustices that occur in our country

We are all accomplices, both of which happen to good and bad.

This is Brazil, and slums are part of everyday life.
